Located in a great location on Nanjing Road west, above line 13, near Line 2 and Line 12, is the HKRI Taikoo Hui Mall (Taikoohui Dazhongli) mall (A HKR International Limited and Swire Properties Limited joint venture). While technically open, this mall is essentially dead, with 80% of shops not open and construction on-going to other parts of the compound. The interior design makes nice photos, but the ceiling are low.
The compound when fully completed will utilize 63,000m2 of land, with a gross floor area of 322,000m2. It will boast the HKRI Taikoo Hui shopping mall with roughly 100,000m2 of floor space, two LEED® Platinum office towers: ‘HKRI Centre One’ (sky lobby at 163m high) and ‘HKRI Centre Two’ with over 170,000m2 (44 elevators at 8m/s), three luxury hotels and serviced apartments covering 50,000m2 and over 400 rooms. 1200 parking spaces will be available. The site is nearby to the Yan’an Elevated Highway and the N-S Elevated Highway and will be connected to more then 20 bus lines.
The mall is six levels, two sub-levels and four above ground levels. It is capped by two open piazzas (large squares). They look to support 250 brands, including 40 Food and Beverage companies. On the south-side of the compound is a European mansion which has been restored and renamed as ‘Cha House’ (named after Cha Chi Ming, founder of HKR International).
