From August 2nd, 1996 to March 28, 2004 Shanghai had a Hard Rock Cafe. After the Seminole Tribe of Florida (December 7, 2006) purchased the brand (for $965 million), it reintroduced the brand to Shanghai on December 25th, 2016 at No.249 North Maoming Road (茂名北路249号, 近南京西路) near line 12, west nanjing road. It occupies two floors with 834m2 of space and has 258 seats (228 indoor, 30 outdoor). They offer western style drinks and meals, however their prices are a bit out of the swing of the local market, with Hamburgers starting at around 120 rmb (~23.24 cad). No surprise, the restaurant was, for the most part, empty.
