Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China, Ltd. is a state owned aerospace company (joint ventured between the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission, Aluminum Corporation of China, Baosteel Group Corporation, Sinochem Group, Shanghai Guosheng Corporation Limited and the Aviation Industry Corporation of China) with its headquarters in Shanghai. It was established on May 11th, 2008.

On November 28th, 2008 they launched the ARJ21, twin-engine, short-range, narrow body aircraft.
On May 5th, 2017 they launched the C919 (C=COMAC [Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China, Ltd.] or China; 9/homophone of 久 meaning Forever; 19=Capacity of 190), a twin-engine(CFM International [joint venture of GE Aviation and Safran Aircraft Engines]’s Leading Edge Aviation Propulsion [LEAP/ LEAP-X1C] turbofan engines), short/medium range (5,555 km in extended range mode), narrow body, aluminum/composite (12%) structure, fly-by wire aircraft.

There are plans for wide-body, long range aircraft, the C929 (2026+) and C939 (undetermined date).
